Hilton Worldwide Expands Leadership Development Training Partnership with eCornell
eCornell online programs to play an increased role in leadership development training for the global hospitality leader
ITHACA, NEW YORK, January 24, 2012 --Â eCornell and Hilton Worldwide, the global hospitality leader, have extended their relationship for 2012, widening opportunities for Team Member participation in online, instructor-led training courses.
eCornell and Hilton Worldwide first established this partnership in 2010 to offer a selection of online learning opportunities in Hospitality Management, Revenue Management and Strategic Leadership to Hilton Worldwideâs senior executives and hotel General Managers. The online classes from eCornell were offered as part of Hilton Worldwideâs Team Member global learning resource platform, Hilton Worldwide University. A number of the participants went on to complete the Hotel Real Estate and Asset Management Certificate offered by eCornell.
As a result of the positive feedback from Team Membersâ initial eCornell experiences, there has been a significant increase in enrollment in the eCornell courses offered in the last two years. Hilton Worldwide University is now further strengthening leadership capabilities for General Managers at Hilton Worldwideâs owned and managed properties, as well as for corporate Vice Presidents and executive leaders, with additional classes through eCornell.
âeCornell and Cornell Universityâs School of Hotel Administration have already proven to be essential partners in the professional development of our Team Members,â said Matt Schuyler, Chief Human Resources Officer, Hilton Worldwide. âWith a network of more than 3,800 hotels across 88 countries, our business leaders can now access a wide variety of training programs and courses online through eCornell, which is both convenient and cost-effective for us. The collaborative, social learning aspect keeps people engaged and raises course completion rates. But most importantly, programs at eCornell deliver measurable results and drive employee performance. For that reason, we have significantly expanded our partnership with eCornell.â
eCornellâs unique approach to e-learning combines the most effective elements of a world-class, Ivy League classroom with the flexibility of an online learning environment. eCornell courses â while self-paced and 100 percent online â are âinstructor-facilitatedâ to help guide a cohort of 20 to 30 participants through challenging, real-world exercises with practical on-the-job application. Classes enable learners to be immersed in learning that also fosters collaboration, interaction and networking among their cohorts.
