The Challenge

  • Joining the already formidable Bright Blue Executive Development Program and aligning it to the specialized needs of IBM India through a partnership with eCornell.

  • These Senior Managers, Directors and Vice Presidents needed to build bench strength to keep pace with hyper-growth seen in India’s markets.

Specific training goals included:

  • Increase the depth of each participant’s business acumen.
  • Help participants understand and develop a globally integrated, locally focused approach to business.
  • Reduce silos and territorial thinking to become more client focused in order to consistently meet P&L objectives.

The Solution

  • Launched work-embedded certificate programs through eCornell in leadership, strategic management and financial management over 4 months as part of accelerated blended learning experience.
  • 93% of enrolled participants successfully completed the certificate programs from eCornell.
  • The pipeline of executive-ready talent at IBM India doubled in the first year.
